 # I can guess your number

Pick a number between one and ten, make it a small number because we are going to do some maths in our heads. Multiply it by 2. Then multiply the new number. Now divide the new number by the original number. You then subtract 7 from whatever number you get. and the answer is 3, right. Let's go through the magic order. Start off by asking someone to pick a number. A number between one and ten is easiest but your subjects do like to challenge you so be prepared for anything. The number is 6. Once we've chosen our number, we multiply it by 2, so 6x2 = 12. Then multiply the new number (so in this case 12) by 5, which is 60. Now divide the new number (60) by the original number (which is 6). You then subtract 7 from whatever number you get. In this case 60 divided by 6 is 10, so we take 7 from 10. and the answer is 3. And it works with ANY number, big or small. The reason this works is because of the steps you take once you've chosen a number. If you multiply by 2, then multiply by 5 you will always have a multiple of 10. When you divide your original number by it will always equal 10. and when you subtract 7 from 10 you will end up with 3, every time! Pretty tricky, try it out on your friends!
