I grew up in Cairns in the far north of Queensland, where I spent my free time playing Soccer, Cricket and exploring the rainforest and the amazing Great Barrier Reef. At school my favourite subjects were chemistry and maths. I never studied biology at school – which is funny because now I am a neuroscientist who studies the biology of the brain. I’ve always been curious about how things work, and the best part of my job is that I spend every day trying to do just that. We still know very little about the human brain and I am really interested in how our brains are built during our early development, and how they stay together as we age. I love doing experiments, making new discoveries and sharing my science with the world. When I’m not filming Get Clever, or working at my microscope, you can probably find me in the kitchen where my favourite thing to do is cook delicious food for my family.
